The Waterfront Pearl condominium development is a pair 10-story towers, sited on Portland’s Willamette Riverfront. Inspired by the reflective quality of the river and the industrial-chic vibe of the Pearl District, the buildings’ exteriors incorporate extensive glass and metal, strong stone accents, geometric forms and cantilevered balconies. The towers are surrounded by lush landscaping, a network of walkways and public plazas, and a cascading water feature that reclaims rainwater from the roof. Each building is served by two high speed elevators and underground parking. The ground floors are occupied by small commercial/retail businesses, a fitness center and conference rooms serving the residents. Units range in size from 900 to 3,200 sf. Each has a view of the Willamette River and has been tailored to the tastes of its owner. Interior finishes include hardwoods, quartz countertops and wool carpets. Amenities include gas and electric fireplaces, operable windows, bathrooms with radiant heat flooring, and oversized solid-core interior doors. This project was a collaborative effort between MCA Architects, the architect of record, and Soren Rasmussen Architects, who developed the design.
