MCA designed this new aviation hangar and office facility for Evergreen International Aviation at their campus in McMinnville. The 29,420 sf hangar was configured to accommodate two Gulfstream IV aircraft. Expansive windows in the hangar provide plentiful natural light. The interior finishes were selected for durability and cleanliness. The adjacent 19,770 sf building was created to accommodate the Evergreen corporate offices and is finished with rich, earthy materials such as timber and natural stone tile. The front lobby is open to the second-story ceiling above and is filled with natural light. A helicopter suspended from the lobby ceiling creates a dramatic visual feature. The building is designed with a central open corridor running through the second floor offices, as well as numerous interior windows. This allows the natural day lighting from the lobby’s exterior windows to be carried throughout the interior, and also allows views of the helicopter from the far end of the building.
